OUR MINISTRY SCRIPTURE

OUR MISSION
That the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
- In one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
- We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
- God in His great love for us, lovingly crucified His own Son, Jesus, to forgive humanity from sin and make a way for us to become part of His family.
- That the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only one who can reconcile us to God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
That the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
• In one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
• We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
• God in His great love for us, lovingly crucified His own Son, Jesus, to forgive humanity from sin and make a way for us to become part of His family.
• That the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only one who can reconcile us to God.
That in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
• That in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
In the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for worship, prayer, Biblical teaching and communion.
• That God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.
• That God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.
• God is good. He is for us – not against us. He does not use tragedy, illness or acts of nature to teach us.
• The Great Commission compels us to share Jesus Christ with others.
• That our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Jesus Christ will return to the earth, and believers will reign together with Him.
• In praying at all times to maintain a relationship with God.
• In praising, worshipping and lifting up holy hands in adoration to the King of kings.
• In giving tithes and Offerings as a covenant of faith.
• We believe in helping and developing people within our community.
• We believe in community engagement as a leadership tool and part of decision-making.
OUR HISTORY
Where We Began
As a successful hospitality and financial consultant and an emerging ministry leader, the Lord called Apostle William Shalders from Africa to pastor a small church of about 20 committed members in the Bronx, New York in December 2004.
Apostle Shalders, his wife, and three children left all they had achieved with their businesses and career behind to yield to the calling of God.
At a point in time, they had to give out all they had acquired and their businesses as gifts to focus fully on the mission here in the United States.
Within two years of pastoring the storefront church, his office was added to expand the size of the meeting place due to numerical growth; by the 3rd year, the storefront had become too small. The church went on to buy a property where Apostle continued to serve the ever-growing ministry until February 2015, when the Lord called him to a new ministry direction.
He resigned to start the Love Legacy Chapel International.
Love Legacy began on Tuesday, February 24th, with seven days of prayer and fasting at their apartment on Brunner avenue in the Bronx with about 20 adults.
Without a plan to start Sunday worship services immediately, Apostle and his wife Belinda walked into medical practice to enquire about space listed for rent in their building, and the practice director offered their waiting room for Sunday services until a meeting space was found.
On March 1st, 2015, Love Legacy Chapel had our first Sunday Service at the waiting room of Infinite Possibilities with 50 adults and children in attendance, after which the church has experienced continuous growth numerically and spiritually week after week.
Love legacy Chapel has been called to Love God and Love people, and we are poised to fulfill this assignment.
